Raspberry Streusel Bars 

1 cup  All-Bran cereal 
3/4 cup  all-purpose flour 
3/4 cup  whole wheat flour 
3/4 cup  firmly packed brown sugar 
1/2 teaspoon  baking soda 
1/4 teaspoon  salt 
1/4 teaspoon  ground cinnamon 
1/3 cup  soft margarine 
2 tablespoons  water 
3/4 cup  raspberry jam 
1 teaspoon  icing sugar (optional) 

1. In medium bowl combine cereal, flours, sugar, soda, salt and cinnamon. Using 
pastry blender or fork, cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 
Stir in water ( mixture will be crumbly ). Set aside 250 ml (1 cup) of mixture. 
Press remainder into bottom of greased 9 by 9 square baking pan using back of 
spoon. 

2. Gently spread jam over cereal mixture. Top with reserved cereal mixture, 
pressing lightly. 

3. Bake at 350°F  20 - 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly 
before cutting into bars. Dust lightly with icing sugar if desired. 

YIELD: 21 bars
