I first wanna apologize to the mods here. But here's my thoughts on subject lines. I agree with you Lora. This is crazy. I will unsubscribe if this keeps up. I don't mind changing subject lines but ya know, people do forget sometimes. Things happen. You can't expect people to always change a subject line especially if they don't know how to do it. I never read them I just look at the body anyway. Only thing I read subject lines for is to see what list the message is from. So yes I agree with her on this one. I have been in many lists where if you didn't change the subject lines it didn't matter, the ones where it did matter I unsubscribed after being yelled at over five times. I'm human and humans make small errors, one of them is changing such a subject line.
I mean who the hell looks at subject lines anyway. I don't truly and I'm sure there are others who don't either unless it's something they wanna keep. Just my 2 scents, if I've offended people well, I apologize. If this message holds my ticket to being thrown off the list, I also apologize but I think she's right here. You can't call this list a list for the blind if you're super sensitive on subject lines when there are certain screen readers some have that won't let ya change it plum simply. Some do and some people forget as well. Thanks for reading and again if I've offended anyone I'm very sorry. If it is not a recipe that I do save in folders and they always have the titles as a subject I am going to read and delete letters anyway. So I do not understand all this bru-ha-ha about subjects for something we are going to open, read a few seconds and delete anyway. I am always telling people to stop being so negative but I have had it up to here about subject lines. If people can't do it, they can't do it. This is supposed to be a group for the blind and my first screen reader was very limited and there were certain things I just could not do with Simply Talker 98 that I can with NVDA now. So why should we be so much harder on blind or disabled people than we expect the whole society to be? If someone says something about a person's dog being thrown out of a public place we are ready to call the government on them and yet if a person says their device is hard to change the subject on we're all over them. Of course I tab or shift tab over and change the darned subject line or delete the long threads that go underneath if I want. But I respect some people can't or don't know how. We should not call ourselves a group for the blind if we are going to yell at people for not making messages look the way we want. I think it is stupid not to give people what we expect out of the sighted world. Sorry but it has gotten too tall for me.
