Thanks for the link on Root Beer which I  read.
If Root Beer tastes anything like sarsparilla I  would prefer putting hot
needles in my eye's.
I  only had sarsparilla once on the Manly Wharf, I spat it right across
Sydney Harbour into Circular Quay, I have never tasted anything like it.
I  remember someone tried to bring Doctor Pepper into Australia in the late
1990's, they spent millions on advertising but they ended up emptying all of
the Doctor Peppers into drains because no one liked the product.
I don't know how much money was lost on importing Doctor Peppers but it
failed terribly.
I shouldn't say to much as one of Australia's favourite cooking shows went
to America to promote Australian products.
One of our most loved sandwich fillers is Vegemite so there were a few
Australian's handing out Vegemite sanggers on the streets of New York.
I  remember one lady tried a Vegemite sangger, there was a long pause and
the chef started laughing and said to the lady you don't know where to spit
that do you? 
I  have only known two people in my whole life who don't like Vegemite, my
daughter and a American I  used to know.
