Yes, thanks. I like the idea of using cookie cutters. Maybe they are used
as a guide for the decorative frosting in a tube? I also like the brai with
m&ms. Aren't there mini m&ms too?
I have also used a knife with a serrated edge on the sides of a layer cake
to make it more fancy. that's not too hard to do after the cake is all
frosted.
I have also used sprinkles that are usually used to decorate cookies.
Sometimes I used a paper doily on top of the cake and just sprinkle powdered
sugar on it, remove the doily, and there's a nice design, but not all cakes
taste as good with just powdered sugar on them instead of frosting.

Thanks Nancy, I've never tried decorating a cake with cookie cutters
before. But it seemslike it would be a little easier to do it that way.
I've tried using the decorating bags and the decorating tips and sometimes
it can be frustrating.
One of my kids has a birthday in December and the other one has a birthday
in January. I'm looking forward to baking a cake for them and hopefully
the decorations will turn out fine.

magazine that you could use cookie cutters to make designs on cakes. Has
anyone ever tried anything like that before? I wrote braille on a cake
once with m&m's. Anyway cake decorating ideas would be great.
