I know you can make stuffing in the crockpot because I have made it
with cornbread.
This is my version if I was to make an Oyster Dressing.
I only like to eat them raw out of the shell so they'd never make it to
the pot.
Crockpot Oyster Dressing
1 lb bread, including crusts (10 cups packed and cubed)
or
3 or 4 cups cornbread
1 pint oyster, raw
1 stick butter, softened (Use a little to rub around the inside of the
crockpot)
1 cup celery, finely chopped
2 cups onions, chopped
1/4-1/2 cup
fresh parsley, chopped coarsely (to me it's better than mincing )
1 1/2 tsp. sage
1 1/2 tsp. thyme
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups chicken stock
2 eggs, well beaten
1. If using bread cubes toast in the oven on the middle rack first.
otherwise:
2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. i add the oyster liquid. Measure the
liquid first then add chicken stock.
Place in crockpot cook on high for 45 minutes to an hour.
Stir well.
Turn to low for 4 hours.
