My Mr. Coffee tea machine also makes a 3.5 quart pitcher, which is supposed
to use ice in the pitcher to make iced tea on the spot. Here's what I do:

First, I put the six cups of water in the hopper. I also put in two tea
bags. (I use one bag of decaf orange pekoe and one bag of decaf Bigelow
Constant Comment -- I don't do caffeine anymore) Then I turn it on and let
it do its thing.

Next I grab the funnel and put the sweetener in a carefully cleaned gallon
milk jug. I put in some water, then fill it about half full with ice cubes
and give it a hearty shake to get things mixed well.
When the tea maker starts wheezing it's pumped all the water through, and I
pour the tea into the gallon jug, give it another hearty shake, then fill to
the top with water and put it in the fridge to finish chilling. You could
add your lemon at that point too if you desired it. Makes a great tea, it's
easy, and it produces a gallon. And the spout on my tea pitcher fits in the
jug with no problems.

Subject: Re: [CnD] Perfect Recipe for a Pitcher of Tea with Lemon

It should be fairly easy to convert the recipe. My best guess is that you
should use the juice of one and a half lemons, and one and a half cups of
sugar. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how many big tea bags you should use.
Maybe just one of them.
As for the smaller ones, probably two. You'll have to let me know if that
works for three quarts of tea. I've never heard of a three-quart pitcher
before, so it will be interesting to see if the tea can be made that way.
  Good luck.
