The gingerbread men we made today turned out great. What was happening was that once and a while the cookie that was cut was in the cutter. That was easy because I could remove the man without damaging it. We used plenty of flower. The cookies that weren't in the cutter were in the dough. I could feel the print of the gingerbread man, but I could not free it without damaging it. My daughter who could see was able to remove the cookie by itself without damage.
The next time I do cookies like this, would it be best to have a plate with flour in it?That way I could dip the cutter in the flour, and all my cookies would go straight into the cutter. Any ideas about this would be greatly appreciated.
