On The Sixth Day of Christmas Cookies.

I thought I'd bake for you. . .

2 of my favorites in one day. . . .

 

Peanut Blossoms

This cookie has to be one of my favorite all time cookie recipes.

my recipe is a bit different than the one posted on the Hershey Website.

 

1 3/4 cup flour

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cups shortening

1/2 cup peanut butter

2 Tablespoon milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

Hersheys Chocolate Kisses

 

Combine shortening and sugars. Add all other ingredients. Mix at low speed 
until blended. Shape dough into balls. roll in additional sugar. Place on 
ungreased

cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes. Remove from oven  place an unwrapped 
chocolate kiss, press down so cookie cracks. Cool for a minute and transfer

to a cooling rack

Makes 4 dozen cookies.

Tuxedo Brownie Hugs Cookies

 

1 package (1 lb. 6.5 oz.) original supreme brownie mix with Hershey's syrup 
pouch

1/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 eggs

 

Stir brownie mix,  syrup pouch, cocoa, water, oil and eggs in medium bowl until 
well blended. Drop by teaspoons onto greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake

at 350º for 8 minutes, or until set. Remove from oven  place an unwrapped 
Hershey's hug, press down so cookie cracks. Cool for a minute and transfer to

a cooling rack.

Makes 5 dozen cookies

Holiday Mints

 

Crush one 5 ounce bag of starlight mints into very fine powder. Melt one 12 
ounce bag of vanilla flavored morsels with 2 Tablespoons of vegetable 
shortening..

This should take about 1 minute on high in the microwave oven. Stir the crushed 
candy into the melted chips and add one or two drops of red food coloring..

Mix until smooth. Drop by the Tablespoon onto wax paper and smooth into 
patties. Refrigerate the patties for about 30 minutes to harden. Leave patties

as is, or dip one half of each patty into melted chocolate. (Melt 3/4 cup of 
semi sweet chocolate chips with 1 Tablespoon vegetable shortening.) Let stand

at room temperature one hour to set the chocolate Recipe makes about two dozen 
patties.

~ NOG ~

 

1 egg

2 teaspoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

pinch of salt

1 cup very cold milk

freshly grated nutmeg

 

Combine all ingredients except nutmeg in a blender.  Blend at medium-low speed 
until smooth.  Pour into decorative glass or mug; sprinkle lightly with nutmeg

 

Holiday Fact

 

Celtic people considered mistletoe to have magical powers. They would decorated 
their homes with mistletoe to ward off evil spirits and to bring good luck.
