Just to find out, cut a pepper open and eat the seeds by themselves. See
how hot they are. Now, eat the rest of the pepper. See which is hotter.
Not only do you find out whether the seeds are where the heat is, but you
get to eat the pepper as a bonus.

Interesting! According to my mother-in-law, it was the seeds. She left
them
in all the stuff she made, including chow chow!

It's not the seeds that contain the heat. It's the inner lining.

I do not know, but usually leave in all the seeds so as the food will
really
be nice and spicy! Smile!

Hi everyone,
I'm late as usual, but when jalapeno peppers are used, cooks are
instructed
to scrape out the seeds so they won't be as hot. Does that make them a
fruit? Nancy Martin -----Original Message-----

Brittany was right. They really are fruits. I actually learned about this
back in high school in a science class. Anything that as seeds in it is
technically a fruit. As long as it has seeds, it's fruit. If it does not
have seeds, it's a vegetable.

If someone knows. I would like to know once and for all, are tomatoes
fruits or vegetables? Kerry
