Spices are expensive. Dollar stores do have them sometimes. Also, if you
need just a little of something that you probably won't use very often, many
health food stores sell them in bulk. Then you can just buy 2 tablespoons
and not throw away the spice can in 5 years.
Also, Trader Joe's has some spices at very good prices.

Bought ginger and nutmeg yesterday, at grocery store.
I could only find the McCormick brand, and i paid almost $5 for each.
And, I believe jars are only 1.6 ounces.
It is ridiculous that spices should cost this much, and for so very
little.
