Trader Joe's has a frozen mashed potatoes. There are little buds of potato
in a plastic bag. You thaw the amount you need and mix it together with
extra butter, garlic, seasonings, or none of the above. You can use them as
a side dish with gravy, or without gravy. You can add chopped onions and
make patties, then fry. I don't think they have them all year round, so go
get'em.

Subject: [CnD] mashed potatoes.

Hi, Janet,

Mashed potatoes are simple but universally liked. You don't have to do much
to make them delicious. If you have some fresh garlic on hand, put a clove
in the water with the raw potatoes. Boil the potatoes and mash them with
butter, milk, salt and pepper. The garlic will not be noticed as intense
garlic flavor, but the potatoes will taste delicious.

You can also add some shredded cheddar cheese to the mashed potatoes for a
different flavor.

If you are serving them with roast beef, add the garlic; it will compliment
the beef beautifully.

Hope this helps.

Blessings,
Alice
