I came across this very problem yesterday morning with spreading cream
cheese on a bagel. It was boxed cream cheese and not at room temp, so it was
a bit difficult. I had it all over me! I always have trouble spreading
anything on a bagel because of the hole in the middle. If I just spread it
right over the hole, depending on the size, I get big gloppy globs falling
through the middle. So, I try to spread it in a circle around it, but hah!
Big mess! I normally use the cream cheese in the tub, which is softer, but
this was left over for Christmas baking supplies.

Perhaps put some in a dish and soften it up a bit in your microwave!

Subject: [CnD] spreading butter

Hi all. Earlier someone asked about spreading peanut butter. I was
relieved to see that so many people used their fingers for that. That's the
method I use, and the one that works the best for me, but I thought I was
doing it wrong.

I had a question about spreading butter both for grilled cheese and toast.
I've tried to use the same method I use for peanut butter, and it doesn't
seem to work as well. Butter doesn't seem to want to spread as well as
peanut butter using my fingers. Anyone figured out a way to do this?
Thanks for any help. Holly _______________________________________________
