Stuffing the bird with citrus, especially oranges or lemons, also will help
in keeping the bird moist.

Nancy,
I've never cooked a whole chicken this way, but have done it with small
turkey's and it works great. I use roasting bags that you can get at the
grocery store. You just season the bird with whatever seasonings you choose
and put the whole thing into the roasting bag. It's amazing how well the bag
does in keeping the moisture in the meat. The two turkey's I did this way
were the best ones I've ever had. When you purchase the bags they will have
the cooking times listed based on how many pounds the chicken is. Hope this
helps

Hi everyone,
I have a small whole chicken I want to cook. I realize there are many
recipes for oven roasted chicken. My past experience results in the outside
might have a bit of seasoned taste but the meat itself is bland and the
white meat is very dry. The crockpot seems like the best option. I'd be
interested in your tried and true tips and recipes.
thank you in advance,
Nancy Martin
