This is a tried and true recipe; I've made it for years and it is always a hit. It comes from Meta Heater's book of American Desserts.
Oreo Cookie Cake 14 to 16 Oreo cookies 2-3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 tsp. almond extract 1-1/2 c. granulated sugar 3 eggs 2 sticks unsalted butter 1 c. sour cream Adjust an oven rack 1/3 up from the bottom of the oven and preheat the oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine the butter and sugar. Cream until light and fluffy; add the eggs, one at a time, and beat until well blended. Sift the flour with the baking soda and salt; add to the butter mixture along with the extracts and sour cream. Cut the Oreo cookies into quarters (they will crumble a bit, it doesn't matter). Fold them into the batter. Pour batter into a greased bundt pan and bake for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. If you wish, you may sprinkle the cake with confectioners' sugar, but it is not necessary. This cake is wonderful, just as is, with coffee or with ice cream. _______________________________________________ Cookinginthedark mailing list [email protected] http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
