Subject: [CnD] About Oreo Cookie Cake.
Hi, Becky, Gail and all,
The recipe for Oreo Cookie cake instructs that you cut the cookies into
quarters. They need to be in pieces, not crumbs because they are folded
into the cake and visually, make darker streaks throughout after the cake
is baked; this affect would not occur if the cookies were crushed.
You can use a food processor to crush the cookies, but it would
drastically change this recipe.
I've made this cake for years; it is always a success. It is worth the
few minutes it takes to cut the cookies; I use a paper plate which keeps
all the cookies together and it's easy then to get them into the cake
batter.
Happy Cooking!
Alice
