Filled Peanut Butter Cookies These cookies are reminiscent of a popular name-brand candy. COST PER SERVING ? 7¢ YIELDS ? 36 cookies . 1½ cups all-purpose flour . ½ cup brown sugar . ½ teaspoon baking soda . ¼ teaspoon salt . ½ cup margarine or butter . ½ cup chunky peanut butter . ¼ cup light corn syrup . 6 tablespoons peanut butter . 2 tablespoons powdered sugar . 6 tablespoons milk chocolate chips, chopped
1. In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt and mix with wire whisk until sugar is evenly distributed. 2. Cut in margarine until small crumbs form. 3. Add peanut butter and corn syrup and mix well. 4. Form dough into 2 rolls, about 2? in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill for at least 2 hours. 5. Preheat oven to 350°F. 6. In small bowl, combine 6 tablespoons peanut butter and powdered sugar and beat until smooth. 7. Slice dough ?? thick and place half the slices on ungreased cookie sheets. 8. Top each with about ½ teaspoon of the peanut butter filling and sprinkle with some of the chocolate chips. 9. Top with remaining slices of dough and press edges to seal. 10. Bake 10-12 minutes or until cookies are set and light golden brown on bottom. 11.
