When in doubt, toss them.

Hi, so I do have a couple that are shriveled, should I just go ahead and not eat those, or just try to peal them anyway.

Don't worry about your potatoes. If you by chance eat a green potato, it will not make you sick. It has to do with to much light and if you eat potato chips, you will occasionally find a chip with a little green tinge. Unless your potatoes are shriveled and soft which would make them hard to peel, or rotten, they are fine. And, trust me, if they are rotten, you will know. If they feel funny or smell funny, don't eat 'em. Otherwise, enjoy.

Subject: [CnD] potato question

Hi all. I was wondering how to tell if potatoes have gone bad? I’ve smelled rotten potatoes before, so is that what I should look for, or is there other things I should look for in determining whether a potato has gone bad. I saw online that if its green it’s poisonous, but I’m just curious. I have a bag of potatoes I’ve had for a few weeks, and don’t want to cook them if they are bad.

Thanks.
Holly
