I don't have friends with gardens. And I can't be bothered with plastic
containers all over my apartment for such things. My coffee makers make a
cup at a time so it's always fresh and not as expensive as buying regular
coffee and the measuring is no big deal to me. I have about three or four
cups a day, sometimes more and k-cups would really run into money. A can
lasts about a month. I use a coffe scoop per cup, which is about two
tablespoons, for a twelve-ounce cup.

I like my one cup Keurig, too. I live alone and one cup at a time is good
for me. I have a larger, older coffee maker for times when others are here
and we all want coffee.
Now regarding the disposal of coffee grounds: I save mine in a plastic air
tight container, as well as egg shells, and give them to my friends who
grow roses. Rose bushes love coffee grounds and egg shells. The former has

acids they like and the latter provide calcium for them.

I store these in plastic containers that have contained things from the
grocery store and I don't want them anymore. THen the rose growers can keep

them until they're ready to dig in their rose bushes.
