I don't have friends with gardens. And I can't be bothered with plastic containers all over my apartment for such things. My coffee makers make a cup at a time so it's always fresh and not as expensive as buying regular coffee and the measuring is no big deal to me. I have about three or four cups a day, sometimes more and k-cups would really run into money. A can lasts about a month. I use a coffe scoop per cup, which is about two tablespoons, for a twelve-ounce cup.

Rose bushes love coffee grounds and egg shells. The former has acids they like and the latter provide calcium for them. I store these in plastic containers that have contained things from the grocery store and I don't want them anymore. THen the rose growers can keep them until they're ready to dig in their rose bushes.
