What about protein shakes, particularly the Thorne ones with pea and rice protein. They are delicious, full of protein and all kinds of good things, and they taste great in smoothies, in water by themselves, and as a base for pudding, just add much less water. Sharon

I can't have bread either, so that eliminates two of my favorite sandwiches: peanut butter and jelly, and peanut butter and banana. I know white bread is soft, but they told me not to eat it anyway. Yes, ice cream, applesauce, pudding, and similar items are fast becoming staples. <smile> Protein is, as one person said, the main factor - I add cheese to mashed potatoes to fill them out more, and of course macaroni and cheese has plenty already, but I'm trying to think of other ways to make meals more filling and varied. Basically, I can only have soft things (cooked pasta, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, rice pudding, custards, that kind of thing) and nothing with high acid content (so no tomatoes, chile, and so on). Onions are also out, except in small amounts, as is anything hard (nuts, seeds, whole grains, most any meat, fresh fruits or vegetables, etc). > > I'm growing tired of macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes, and I'd love any suggestions anyone has. I'm mostly looking for any pasta sauces you might know of that fit the requirements (no chunks of anything, little to no acid, onions, or hot flavors). If you have ideas for other dishes, though, I'd appreciate those as well.
