I once ate in a chinese restaurant where I suspected that those owners used sweet pickles.
You'll have to work out the rest.

Subject: [CnD] Sweet and sour sauce without pineapple?

Hi all,
I'd like to find a sweet and sour sauce recipe that doesn't
include pineapple, yet is still slightly on the sweeter side and is not too strong. I know everyone's thoughts on what constitutes too sour, or sweet, or strong, or bland are different, but the key here is to have it not be bitey at all and have it not use pineapple. Any ideas?
