Hi, Betty, It sounds like measuring cups and spoons are a step in solving whatever problems you had with the brownies. But, some more specifics would be helpful. Were you using a mix and perhaps didn't have good directions? Were you making them from scratch? Accurate measurements in baking are important because there is a balance among the ingredients: fats, sugars, flour (for the gluten) liquids and leavening (baking soda, baking powder, and eggs).
