Hi, sorry, i am coming in late on this discussion. What makes this grill much better than others? I saw the layout and it looks like it can defrost? wow, that is neat. I have used george foreman grills, so is this one much more different and easier to use?

Sharon, I haven't used my grill in awhile, and cannot find the layout
of the buttons. I wrote them down, but darn if I recall where I put
them. Anyway, the Opti-Grill will beep when ready, and it will beep
when your selection is done.

Thanks for letting us know where we can get the manual. That is very helpful!

I hope you will enjoy the grill.

I received mine today (yes, on Sunday thanks to Amazon). It seems to be
about the size of a medium sized toaster oven. You can read the instruction
manual at

Qvc.com

All you need to do is do a search for T-Fal Opti Grill. There is only one
item that will appear. Press enter on the item number and arrow down past
the description, price, etc until you find things like the quick start
guide
and the manual. The quick start guide did not read, but the manual read in
less than ten minutes.

It seems very self-explanatory.

The Foreman grill I had has plates which do not remove so you know it is an
older model.

The drip tray goes into the machine in only one way.

At this point my only question is the buttons. I am guessing that the large
button on the far right is start, but I don't know the sequence of the
settings. Ward did list them yesterday so I'd just like to confirm the
sequence.

Ward also mentioned that you press start, your food selection and OK.

The manual indicates that there is a wait for the machine to warm up and
then a tone to indicate that it is ready for food to be placed. Then there
is a tone for rare, medium and well done.

I am very anxious to try it but thought people might like to know that the
manual found on QVC is available, and you don't have to be a customer, log
in or anything.

Thanks to all for your advice and suggestions, and thanks to those who put
up with the discussion even if not interested.

Sharon
