If you want to start off with dried beans see if you can find a bag of 
15 bean soup or 10 bean soup at your local grocery store.
Hank really likes 15 bean. It has a packet of seasoning that you mix 
into the water and let cook before you put the beans in at least that 
is what I do when doing them in the crockpot.
