Hi Pamela, You see it a lot for when someone has tried the recipe and it is good. That's what it usually means but on some of the groups for those of us who don't see well, it has a different meaning.
I love groups that give tried and true recipes, whether for the visually impaired or anyone, as I hate to take the time to make something I really want and then have it not turn out right! I figure we can confidently decide to try a recipe knowing that someone in our group has actually done it and it was great! I feel silly that I didn't figure out the tried and true meaning, but I wasn't even close. The first time I found it was with some hot spicy recipes, and was puzzled when I started seeing it with other recipes too. Now that I know I can dismiss the idea unless it comes from a trusted source. Duncan Hines Deluxe II Pineapple Supreme Cake Mix 1/4 c. oil 2 eggs 1/2 c. water 1 can (20-23 oz.) pineapple pie filling Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour oil into a 13x9x2 inch pan; tilt pan to cover bottom. Put cake mix, eggs and water into pan; stir with a fork or spoon until blended (about 2 minutes). Scrape sides, spread batter evenly in pan. Spoon pie filling onto batter; use a fork to fold into batter just enough to create a marbled effect. Bake for 35-45 minutes until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cooled cake may be sprinkled with powdered sugar. Use a knife to loosen cake from sides; cut and serve directly from pan. Store cake loosely covered. Makes 16-20 servings. Cherry or strawberry pie filling may be substituted. Enjoy.
