Savory Pork Roast 1 (2 pound) pork roast
1 clove garlic, minced 1 medium-sized onion, sliced 1 pint sauerkraut or more if you wish 1 teaspoon caraway seed If you have time, heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the roast in the hot pan and brown on all sides. Place the roast, browned or not, in a 4 quart oval slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients in the order listed. Cover; cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, or on high for 3 hours, or until meat is tender but not dry. Variation: Salt and pepper the roast before placing in the cooker. Makes 6 servings.
