GOOEY BUTTER CAKE

1 box (17 oz.) pound cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
4 eggs
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 box (1 lb.) confectioners' sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Combine cake mix, butter and 2 eggs, stirring until well blended. Beat 1
minute. Spread batter in greased 13 x 9 inch pan.

Beat cream cheese until fluffy with electric beater; beat in remaining 2
eggs, powdered sugar (reserve 1/2 cup sugar to sprinkle on top of cake) and
vanilla. Pour evenly over cake batter. Sprinkle with nuts and bake at 350
degrees for 35-45 minutes or until cake pulls from sides of pan. Cool 20
minutes. Sprinkle with
