I’ve made this recipe before & your measurements do not need to be exact. I just use a large spoon & scoop out what I think is about half the jar.
If you want to be exact, you could just spoon the jelly into your measuring cup & then dump it in the crockpot. My opinion is can you ever have too much grape jelly??? I guess if you don’t like grape jelly then the answer is yes. Honestly, too much or not enough it’s not going to make that huge of a difference. If there’s too much, it will be a little sweeter. Good luck! ________________________________ From: Cookinginthedark <cookinginthedark-boun...@acbradio.org> on behalf of Kevin Minor via Cookinginthedark <cookinginthedark@acbradio.org> Sent: Friday, December 11, 2020 5:48:39 PM To: cookinginthedark@acbradio.org <cookinginthedark@acbradio.org> Cc: Kevin Minor <kmino...@outlook.com> Subject: [CnD] What's an easy way to transfer half a jar of grape jelly to a crockpot? Hi. I'm going to try to make the recipe that was sent earlier, but I'm using meatballs instead of sausages. I have all the ingredients, and it sounds very easy to make, but there's a problem that I need help with. The smallest jar of grape jelly that I could get is 30 ounces, so I have to figure out how to get a little more than half of it from the jar to the crockpot. I figured that I need to use 2 and a quarter cups of it if I want to be precise. My knowledge of jelly is it's good on toast and in sandwiches, so I'm a newbie at using it. How do I approach this situation? Thanks in advance for all the help.
