Hi Paul et al:
The Apple X11 guy is usually quite helpful and responsive.
Probably the best course is to have someone knowledgeable with
initials something like PE submit a bug report, and the rest of us can
cheer it on in the Apple X11 email list.
At least it isn't as bad as that cockroach of a bug wherein if you
resized a window too quickly, X11 would crash.

It is an Apple bug - it came along with 2.3.x, I think.
