Also, note that the modelling tool-bar can be hidden with
(hide-modelling-toolbar).

Thanks for the advice.
I had managed to reduce the size by detaching the tool bar as you
suggested. I can try unticking icons to see if this can do the job for me.

I assume you have a gtk2 Coot version. Here the y-size of the window
size is dictated by the toolbar on the right. You cannot make the window
smaller than the space needed for this (*). To make the toolbar smaller
(or to not effect the window size) you can do the following:
- undisplay icons via Edit->Preferences->General->Refinement Toolbar ,
then untick icons
- detouch the toolbar from the main window (the toolbar will then
probably still be too long for your screen, but you can fit the main
Coot window in y.
Hope this helps,

(*) the icons and text should actually resize to smaller values if you
have a smaller display to accommodate everything. If it doesnt do it
automatically or you still need more space you may want to use the
command line switch --small-screen.

Hi,
I am trying to reduce the window size in coot using the command
set-graphics-window-size N1 N2

I am unable to reduce the y-length beyond a certain value. The window
y-size is still more than my monitor area. is there some way of
reducing it further?
