Hi Robert, I had the same problem with R32. The problem is caused by the "fuzzy" assignment of space group symbols H3/H32 and R3/R32, respectively.
One easy workaround: Convert your .phs to an .mtz file with f2mtz and cad, using the keyword "SYMMETRY H32". Or just edit Thomas Schneider's script (http://webapps.embl-hamburg.de/hkl2map/phs2mtz). Sandro
