Hello Chuck,

if you get a recent machine with a decent graphics card, you probably
will not notice much difference between whether it's intel or AMD or
multi-core, etc.
Coot is not very demanding to the hardware.

Zalman monitors work neatly with coot (we use Nvidia Quadro FX 580 cards
in our machines, but I am sure less will do).

I have no experience with shutter-stereo.
