If I comment out the tips.scm and tips-gui.scm files from within the coot.scm
file then coot works for both versions.

Cant use Coot 0.7 from within CCP4 6.3.0 because libraries are incompatible
with Red Hat 6 (
/coot-real: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.14' not found
(required by ./coot-real)

Would someone know why and should I leave my coot.scm alone with the edits?

Thanks for the info.

You could solve this by adding to your ~/.coot file

(no-coot-tips)

And incidentally, I have just taken delivery of a new desktop machine
and its the same as you have. So, if coot will work on anything in the
future, it should work with RHEL 6 64-bit.

I will try to make a distributable binary tar for 0.7 and if I can find
somewhere to put it where you can get it, I will let you know.

Regards,

Paul.
