Older versions of Coot didnt have the extra window, but the keybinding worked already (*). An upgrade should do the trick. Another slightly unrelated reason may be that the system has a keybinding Ctrl-g which takes precedence.

Dear all:

I am using the provided binaries for coot 0.6.2 rev. 3562 on 64-bit
linux (running 64-bit ubuntu 12.04), but for some odd reason, the ctrl+g
functionality for bringing up the window to select a residue does not
work and I can't figure out why.

ctrl+g does not register any response on the terminal, but ctrl+s for
saving the state does.

I haven't noticed a problem for any of the other built-in hotkeys.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks so much,
Dan
