Hi all,

A couple of minor bugs/queries...

I’ve noticed in the past few daily builds that newly placed chain IDs have a
blank chain ID… I’m not sure whether this is deliberate or a bug, but I don’t
remember it being that way before? Perhaps defaulting to A might be better, in
case other programs expect a non-blank chain ID?

Also, in the renumber residues dialog, when no start or end residues are
entered but an offset is entered, Coot doesn’t renumber anything - it might be
better if it defaulted to renumbering the whole chain? This would be
particularly useful when placing new helices and trying to get them in register
with the rest of the partial model.

On the same note - newly placed helices seem to start with inconsistent numbers
- sometimes the first res is 5, sometimes 8, etc - I guess because a long helix
is placed and then trimmed back - would it be possible to automatically
renumber them such that the first res of the new helix is one, or would that
just make the whole process a lot slower? this would make it easier to quickly
calculate how much to renumber by when placing a new helix at the end of a
chain.

Best,
Oli.
