Hi all,

Would it be possible in a future coot version for superpose and lsq_match to
return the rotation matrix and translation vector when called? At the moment
these are output to the console, but this makes them difficult to access from
the scripting interface for further manipulation.

The reason I ask is because I would like a quick way to align two maps (e.g.
two crystal forms of the same molecule). ‘Transform map by LSQ model fit’
works, but it has certain limitations - I would rather get the rotation matrix
and translation vector from an SSM match between two selected molecules, but at
the moment I don’t see an easy way to do that (because I can’t access the
rotation matrix calculated by superpose).

Best,
Oliver.
