Hi all,

I'm wondering if it would be possible in some future Coot release to change the
max_radius for HOLE to a number greater than 5 (see here, line 48:
https://code.google.com/p/coot/source/browse/trunk/coot-utils/coot-hole.hh?r=5185)?
Or to make the max_radius a user settable parameter?

Many ion channels exceed a radius of 5, and when this happens in coot the
output defaults to a thin red cyclinder (see attached).

I know this is probably one of the less used functions in Coot, but for some
applications HOLE is still the best option for visualising conduction pathways,
and it does not seem to be available anywhere on the web any more (except as
part of Coot).

Even better would be an option to output a molecule containing a water molecule
at each Hole probe-dot, with the B-factor containing the radius, to allow
visualization in Chimera or Pymol.

Best,
Oliver.
