Quite Right Folmer,
I am pretty sure that this was fixed in 0.8.2:
Release Notes has this item:
o BUG-FIX: Resetting of Own font colour on opening the preferences
dialog fixed.

Dear Andrea,
I would suggest, if at all possible, to use a more recent version of coot, or
at least test it.
0.8.1 is almost 2 years old, and the new ones are available for debian as tar
files here:
http://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/Personal/pemsley/coot/
Even if you are not an administrator on the system, it is easy to use coot
locally on your
own system.
Best regards,
Folmer

Hi everybody,
I am using coot (version 0.8.1) on a linux debian system. Atom labels are shown
in black
and on a black background this is not ideal. Unfortunately changing the color in
Edit>Preferences>Others>Fonts doesn't seem to work (color is always black even
if I select
a different one). How can I solve this issue?
Thanks,
Andrea
