Hello there,
I wanted to get the latest /Coot/ on my Ubuntu 20.04 installation and
downloaded
coot-0.9.1-binary-Linux-x86_64-ubuntu-16.04.6-python-gtk2.tar.gz
<https://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/personal/pemsley/coot/binaries/release/coot-0.9.1-binary-Linux-x86_64-ubuntu-16.04.6-python-gtk2.tar.gz>
from
https://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/personal/pemsley/coot/binaries/release/
I then wanted to try out curlew, (inspired by
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhB8qUBBnJQ ), which turned out to show
nothing.
I then checked the terminal where there was an error message asking if
my curl needed OpenSSL.
After some fiddling, I then removed libcurl.so.4.5.0 file from the
$COOT_HOME/lib/ folder and restarted /Coot/, after which I did not have
any problems.
Not sure exactly what the problem was here, so perhaps this is an FYI
Cheers,
Folmer Fredslund
PS:
I initially tried with
coot-0.9.3-binary-Linux-x86_64-scientific-linux-7.6-python-gtk2.tar.gz
<https://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/personal/pemsley/coot/binaries/release/coot-0.9.3-binary-Linux-x86_64-scientific-linux-7.6-python-gtk2.tar.gz>
to actually get 0.9.3, but was not immidiately able to start it, so
decided to look into the 0.9.1 Ubuntu build first.
