Hi Paul, I am also working with a "non-basic mouse", one reason that I am
mostly sticking to coot 0.9. It would be great if coot 1 would allow me to
remap the contour levels to the numeric keypad + and -, or some other key pair,
so I wouldn't have to use the shift key.

<furrowed brow> It is bound to (regular) -, + and = in fact. That is not enough?

I will see what I can do about keypad + and -.

Moving through a cryoem map and constantly changing the levels can be pretty
onerous.

Sounds bad, man. Shift Q allows you to cycle through the maps so this *should
be* straightforward.

If you can try 1.1.x HEAD and let me know what it says in the console, that
might help.

Paul.
