This is my first time mentoring for GSoC, so it might very well be that you already have more experience than me. In general I expect to interact with the student mainly on IRC (on #python-dev@freenode) and on the bug tracker. There other devs can also help and contribute, so if you are around your help will definitely be welcomed. You could also apply officially as a backup mentor, even though I'm not sure what this exactly entails.
