I've inserted a simple fopen/fclose file creation in:
/Library/Audio/Presets/[Vendorname]

The path exists on Mavericks and Yosemite.
The file is written on Mavericks but not on Yosemite.

Doesn't this look like Logic is running in a sandbox?
If it does - what would be the next step for me to get back access to the presets?
Would anybody point me to a piece of documentation?

Thanks,

Thomas

Logic Pro X is not sandboxed, not changes there. GarageBand X is – you _have_
to test your AU with GBX. If your AudioUnit is accessing the file system, you
have to take the sandbox container into consideration. Besides that the sandbox
will not be in your way in GBX.

No problem in Logic/Mavericks. And no problem with the x64 VST or AAX in
Yosemite.

I'd be glad if anyone could point me to the reason for this misbehaviour
and maybe to a workaround.

This is just a wild guess, but it's probably best to avoid kTextEncodingUnknown
in any code that's meant to be portable across OS versions.....

If you can't think of anything more appropriate, try UTF8 instead of "unknown".
