Hi,

I am using am audiograph terminating with the remoteIO (kAudioUnitSubType_RemoteIO).

Volume output through headphones and on various ipads and non-iphone devices is as expected. However, on iphones the speaker output is extremely low.
I have seen other developer references to this issue, but no solutions.

Is there an alternate output AU or a way to access the actual hardware output levels?

Which output device (route) are you trying to use and which audio session category do you use?

We got caught out because the play and record category on iPhone (only) goes to the phone receiver speaker by default, not the usual speaker. iPad and iPod Touch don't have that speaker so they don't behave that way. (iPhone 3GS doesn't seem to behave that way either, but newer ones do.). And if headphones are connected, those are used instead - probably Bluetooth, Airplay etc too.

There is an API in AVAudioSession to override it.
