Sure. If the code responsible for filling audio buffers never gets scheduled on the CPU, then those audio buffers will contain garbage and you'll get stutter. > > (We're having intermittent audio drops on a few Macs, with > 'IOAudioStream[]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: counted 1 clip more than one > buffer ahead errors.' printed around the same time- there happens to be a > lot of SSH brute forces on the same Macs, so I pondered if the short > spike > of SSH-attempts might be triggering it) It's puzzling that Macs whose audio playback you rely on are exposed to a network where they can be directly targeted for SSH bruteforce. If these are workstations, best practice would likely be to place them behind a firewall. If remote access is necessary, a VPN seems appropriate. --Kyle Sluder > > (Festive) thanks in advance > > *Michael* > 07595247282 > _______________________________________________ > Do not post admin requests to the list.
