iOS 9 was the first iOS version to support AUv3. If you're going to support 9, 
I suggest requiring 9.3 as a minimum, unless you want to deal with weird issues 
;-)

An extra complication: not all iOS 9 devices support AUv3. Notably the iPad 3 
did not. iPad 4 was the minimum device.
