If you do, with GRUB2 + Linux (whatever Linux distro it is), it depends how the drive is configured? Either for UEFI (will NOT work), either for UEFI + MBR or MBR only - should work. You need to investigate what yuor attached drive is: cat, dog, or combination (UEFI, MBR, or MBR + UEFI)? Please, upgrade me with the info I requested (memory and drive)?
