Here is the job description for your reference, please go through it and let me know if you would like to move forward with this opportunity. * * *Position *: *GIS database* *Location : Raleigh, NC * *Duration : 4-6 months * Our client is seeking a short term (estimated at 4-6 months) contractor to work with the Database Team to build necessary components for the GIS enterprise infrastructure. Help is also needed to provide GIS services including database, GIS and web server accesses, and application development using industrial standard practices to meet critical enterprise GIS business needs from divisions across DENR. *Candidate will be:* • Responsible for and assist with the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, access, performance tuning and deployment of enterprise wide Geographical Information System (GIS) on ESRI ArcSDE and ESRI ArcGIS Server. • Create and manage system documentation, including configurations, backup and restoration procedures. Manage product patches and new version upgrades. • Create standard procedures and processes for GIS change control and production deployment, and distribution and support for desktop software under enterprise licenses, as well as other data related ad hoc requests. • Assist with developing GIS-based databases with database and map displays, use/develop software to enter, update, transform, geo-coding and display information in the geodatabase. • Perform data analysis, integration, maintenance and QA to provide data for web based GIS (Geographic Information System) applications. • Develop streamlined data processing workflow and applications to help with data analysis and integration from various sources that involve vector, raster and imagery geospatial datasets, QA and maintenance, fulfill data delivery orders and manage data inventory. • Provide training and mentoring within the organization on using the enterprise Geographic Information System and tools to collect, analyze, share relevant data among all divisions.
