REQUIREMENTS: Provide efficient test support for IT Data Warehouse projects and initiatives, designing and developing test scripts, defining test data, executing test scripts, and reporting defects. Understand business processes and system design to effectively conduct System Testing and Production Verification. Including experience with relational databases (prefer DB2) and broad experience and expertise with ETL processes and tools (prefer Data Stage). Experience in both Snowflake and Star Schema. 1-2 years experience writing complex SQL to incorporate ETL logic and validate test cases. SQL knowledge will need to be demonstrated. 1-2 years experience testing data through Business Objects or other reporting tool. Business Objects is preferred. Detailed knowledge of Data Warehouse platform and general knowledge of other IT Platforms such as Client/Server, Internet/Intranet, Electronic Commerce, Mainframe) Demonstrated ability to manage business expectations and understand business processes. Effective communication skills including issue resolution. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to operate with some specific direction and general direction. Ability to see a task through to completion independently or as a team member. Analytical ability and strong problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to produce results. Analyze requirements, data models and other documents to construct effective test scripts. Ability to test slowly changing dimensions and Fact tables. Design automated scripts for efficient testing of interfaces, data translations, batch outputs, or similar processes. This includes using SQL scripts to validate data movement from source to target as well as performing data integrity and referential integrity in Data Warehouse tables. With direction, specify test cases and design scripts for efficient testing of data extraction, translation and load processes. Interpret test plans to understand priorities, schedules, and expectations Review documented requirements to ensure testability, maintainability, accuracy and consistency. Document test coverage and traceability to requirements. Develop test scripts and define test data for System Testing and Production Verification. Execute test scripts and document test results for IT projects. Identify system defects and retest defect resolutions. Support and adhere to Wellmark IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), operational procedures and development and security standards. Other duties as assigned. Thanks and Regards. . .
