I've just come across this information in a PRONI search (hope it comes
through in a readable format):

Repository : Public Record Office for Northern Ireland
PRONI Reference : D2298/68
Level : Series
Access :
Title : Papers about the McElrea family and the lands of Gortroe, Co.
Donegal.
Dates : 1896
Description : Papers about the McElrea family and the lands of Gortroe, Co.
Donegal.

I cannot find a place called Gortroe in Donegal - only in Cork. Any ideas
what this place might be? McElrea families are often found in Gortin,
Tyrone, but that's a far cry from this search result. (I collect McElrea
data from everywhere.)

The documents are apparently not available (Item = N), but I could search
the area for other records if it exists!

Thanks,
Kathleen
