Hi Kathleen

Sending you off list some other notes from PRONI’s e-Catalogue.

Seems like you need to visit PRONI in Belfast or to get someone to do this for
you.

Have you thought of asking the Ulster Historical Foundation for research
assistance in this regard?

Sincerely

Subject: [CoTyroneIreland] PRONI search/reference

I've just come across this information in a PRONI search (hope it comes through
in a readable format):

Repository :

Public Record Office for Northern Ireland

PRONI Reference :

D2298/68

Level :

Series

Access :

Title :

Papers about the McElrea family and the lands of Gortroe, Co. Donegal.

Dates :

1896

Description :

Papers about the McElrea family and the lands of Gortroe, Co. Donegal.

I cannot find a place called Gortroe in Donegal - only in Cork. Any ideas what
this place might be? McElrea families are often found in Gortin, Tyrone, but
that's a far cry from this search result. (I collect McElrea data from
everywhere.)

The documents are apparently not available (Item = N), but I could search the
area for other records if it exists!

Thanks,

Kathleen
