Hi Beverley,
Based on the age of John BALLANTINE I'm guessing that William and Mary married between 1805 and 1815. The compulsory registration of Irish marriages didn't happen until 1864 so your only hope really is to find the church they were married in and hope the registers are either still in the church or at PRONI. Donegal-Tyrone is the border area of the two counties which usually came under Strabane or Castlederg register offices in Tyrone. The parish of Urney is in both Donegal and Tyrone. If you go to nationalarchives.ie and click on Research your Family Tree, click on Tithe Applotments and put PINKERTON into Donegal you will get 9 hits, one for Alt, Urney parish which is on the Donegal side of the parish. A last hope would be to search for BALLANTINE and PINKERTON references at our website CoTyroneIreland.com and see if the names overlap Rob Doragh Liverpool UK
